A mod London photographer studies his negatives after shooting some photographs and sees something which makes him believe he has photographed a murder. Blow-Up was nominated for 2 Oscars and released in 1966.

Alfie

We’re not talking Jude Law here – the original Alfie was also released in 1966, and starred Micheal Caine. It tells the story of a young man from the working classes of London. He is confident, charming, totally self-centered and very successful with the ladies. Alfie uses women for his immediate pleasure, without emotional involvement, and leaves a trail of emotional devastation.

Bedazzled

Nope. Not Liz Hurley. The original Bedazzled was the comedy debut of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore and was released in 1967. Stanley is a short order cook, infatuated with Margaret, the statuesque waitress who works at Wimpy Burger with him. When he meets George Spiggott, AKA the Devil, he sells his soul for 7 wishes and tries through various guises to make Margaret his own.

Rider on the Rain

A beautiful young woman in the South of France is stalked by a mysterious masked assailant. She shoots him and dumps his corpse in the sea. Later, an American investigator turns up and, to her horror, seems to know all about what she has done…

Darling

Diana Scott is a young London model who decides to climb the social ladder by jumping in and out of assorted beds. Her life quickly descends into chaos and she’s left with a few tough problems to solve.

Factory Girl

Technically not a Swinging Sixties film, this thoughtful 2006 release plays off during the height of the swing in London. It tells the story of Eddie Sedgwick – a troubled rich socialite who moves to London and becomes involved in Andy Warhol’s world of art and the ‘Factory’. She catches the eye of a famous Folk singer and her drug-fuelled relationships with Warhol and his gang take a turn for the worse.

Georgy Girl

A homely but vivacious young woman dodges the amorous attentions of her father’s middle-aged employer, while striving to capture some of the glamorous life of her swinging London roommate.

Bitter Harvest

An attractive young woman will do anything to escape her deadly, dull existence in the back lots of Wales. But when she reaches the bright lights of London, is the price too high?
